Im Jahr 2016 lud die Stadt Paderborn einige Künstler aus Bolton ein, im Forum junger Künstler im Schlosspark in Schloss Neuhaus auszustellen. Im Rahmen dieses Besuches lernten auch wir vom Raum für Kunst diese Künstler kennen. Es etablierte sich ein Informationskanal.
Im selben Jahr beschlossen sieben frischgebackene Absolventen der Universität von Bolton, das STANDARD-Kollektiv zu gründen, mit dem Ziel, eine breit aufgestellte politische Ausstellung für die Neo: Gallery in 2017 zu erstellen. STANDARD war auch der Titel dieser Ausstellung, mit der sich die Gruppe konstituierte. Die Gemeinschaft kam zudem überein, auch Gastkünstler aus Boltons deutscher Partnerstadt Paderborn einzuladen. So kam es, dass sich zwei Mitglieder vom Raum für Kunst im Juni 2017 an der Ausstellung in der neo:gallery23, The Market Place, Bolton, beteiligten.
Wir Paderborner luden im Gegenzug das STANDARD-Kollektiv im letzten Jahr in den Raum für Kunst ein. Sie kamen und präsentierten ihre Ausstellung OBJECTION.
In diesem Jahr werden wir (die Mitglieder des Raum für Kunst) gemeinsam mit unseren britischen Freunden ausstellen.

Der Titel „beyond“ weist auf Jenseitiges hin, auf etwas, das wir hier und jetzt noch nicht sehen können. Er weist auf etwas hin, das wir nicht wissen, er schrammt an Erwartungen lang, fordert auf, hinzuschauen und weist nicht zuletzt darauf hin, dass sich unsere Welt rasant ändert. Dies wird das zentrale Thema der Ausstellung sein. Es könnte auch sein, dass es hier und da politisch wird, denn wir verstehen diese Ausstellung auch als Teil einer Brücke, über die Ideen, Kultur und sogar Menschen gehen können, wenn alte, selbstverständlich erscheinende abgerissen werden. Wer heutzutage Brücken will, muss sie selber bauen und Andere dazu einladen, das Selbe zu tun.
Zusammen geht das besser als allein und deswegen freuen wir uns sehr, dass der Deutsch-Englische Club mit Mitteln aus dem Wettbewerbs-Programm „Europa bei uns zuhause“ der Landesregierung Nordrhein-Westfalen, die Stadt Paderborn und die Paderborner Brauerei die Ausstellung unterstützen.

In 2016, the City of Paderborn invited some Artists from Bolton to exhibit in „Forum junger Künstler“ at The Castle Park in Schloss Neuhaus. During this visit, we from the „Raum für Kunst“ also got to know these artists. A reciprocal information channel was established.
That same year, seven alumni from the University of Bolton decided to create the STANDARD collective with the aim of creating a wide-ranging political exhibition for Neo: Gallery in 2017. STANDARD also appeared as the title of this exhibition, with which the group constituted itself. The Community also agreed to invite guest artists from Bolton’s German twin city of Paderborn. So, two members from the Raum für Kunst took part in the exhibition at Neo:gallery23, The Market Place, Bolton, in June 2017.
In return, we Paderborn artists invited the STANDARD collective into the Raum für Kunst last year. They headed for Paderborn and presented their exhibition OBJECTION at the Raum für Kunst.
This year we (the members of the Raum für Kunst) will present a common show with our British friends from STANDARD.

The title „beyond“ points to the ulterior, something we can’t see here and now. It points to something we don’t know, It is scratching along expectations, urging to look and, not least, pointing out to the fact that our world is rapidly changing. This will be the central theme of the exhibition. It could also be that it gets political here and there since we also see this exhibition as a part of a bridge over which ideas, culture and even people can walk when old, of course, obvious structures are being demolished. If one wants bridges these days one have to build them oneself inviting others to do so.
Working together is easier than struggling alone, and that is why we are very proud that the German-English Club supports the exhibition with funds from the competition programme „Europa bei uns zuhause“ of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia. The City of Paderborn and the Paderborn Brewery are supporting this show as well.

Die Ausstellung wird während der Offenen Ateliers Paderborn am 1. Juni um 18:30 Uhr eröffnet und dauert bis zum 9. Juni. Die boltoner Künstler werden am 1. und 2. Juni anwesend sein.
The exhibition will start together with the „Offene Ateliers Paderborn“ on 1st June and will be open until 9th June. The Bolton-based artists will be present on 1st and 2nd June.
